Mediation
Mrs. Fitzpatrick is a certified family financial mediator and a member of the North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission. She is able to guide parties through the mediation process.
Mediation in North Carolina is a form of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). Mediation is confidential and allows for a neutral third party, known as the mediator, to assist the parties in resolving their dispute without court intervention. Mediation allows for the parties to reach an agreement that satisfies their specific needs without the stress and cost of going to trial.
Neutral third party mediators cannot represent either party and cannot give legal advice. Mediators simply help guide the parties to have open communication about the issues to reach a settlement that works for both of the parties involved with professional assistance.
Mediation is beneficial for parties who are willing to work together to reach a settlement in areas such as divorce and child custody.
